Mediation Process
Step 1 – Enquiry and free 15 minute initial consult
As the initiator, you submit an enquiry or book a 15-minute consultation appointment HERE. Our mediator or support staff will call you to get a brief understanding of your needs, advise if mediation is suitable and find out contact details for the other party
Step 2 – Confirmation, Agreement and Booking
Because mediation is voluntary, our mediator or support staff will contact the other party to advise them of the mediation referral, and ask if they would like to participate. We will notify you if the other party would like to take part in mediation and if so, you will be sent an engagement agreement document and book in your 1 hour 1:1 appointment with our support staff or mediator
Step 3 – Initiator and Respondent individual 1 hour session
Our mediator or support staff will make contact with you as the initiator and the other party as the respondent for your 1 hour individual 1:1 sessions to find out details of the dispute, each parties perspective and aims from mediation. Typically conducted via phone, this session can be conducted at a time suitable to you inside or outside of traditional business hours
Step 4 – Face to Face Mediation
Our mediator or support staff will liaise with both parties regarding a suitable venue and time to conduct the face to face joint mediation session then both parties attend a face to face joint mediation session with the mediator, with the view of creating a written or verbal agreement between both parties.
Typically these steps can be achieved quite quickly and in most cases, face to face mediation can occur within 2 weeks of initial contact.
